Health classes explained

Preferred Plus, Preferred, Standard Plus, and Standard: the breakdown of each and what determines which one you'll be placed in.

Insurance companies organize term life premiums using rate classes. Though names differ slightly across carriers, they all follow the same pattern: top-tier classes (Preferred Plus, etc.) for the healthiest, middle classes (Standard Plus) for those with minor issues, and lower classes for more significant health considerations.

What underwriters look at

Your height and weight, blood pressure and cholesterol readings, whether close relatives had heart disease or cancer, and what drugs you currently take.

How to use the quote tool

The health field asks you to be truthful: Excellent = virtually no health troubles, Good = small issues like managed high blood pressure, Fair = something more substantial like controlled diabetes, Poor = uncommon, but means you're in active treatment for something serious.

Susman Insurance Agency works to match you with carriers whose rules fit your circumstances: our agents represent applicants, not the insurance companies.
